The match would decide the league title, if Trowbridge won they would win the league, we just needed a draw. Brendon got us of to a good start with a good win. Kels lost his game then simon got a draw, so it was all on Kels father Colin on top board, there was great relief when his opponent offered a draw and with that the league title. Phew! |

We agreed to play for double points as their young players did not want the late night. unfortunately this worked against us as we lost so Bath doubled their points haul for the year going from bottom to 2nd, we are still top but now need to win our final match with Trowbridge to win the league. |

We lost on the two top boards but Alan Pilton & Keith Shurlock both won to give us the draw in our final match of the season. It could give us the runner up position in the league if the champions Gillingham have beat Wincanton. Not bad as we lost our first two matches. After that poor start we have had an unbeaton run. |

On grades this looked like another draw. However Les Cutting's oponent D.Woods (147!) lost a piece and resigned after 11 moves! Tony Alsop lost to P.Moody (115), Simon Gray won a closly fought game in the 60th move, and Gordon Hunter finally gave us the victory which completed the double for us against Glastonbury this year. |
